Sidney wool blanket
- In stock
The SIDNEY wool coat is made especially for dogs with little fur, short fur, or little/no undercoat.
The coat has a comfortable fit and is easy to put on and take off.
High collar for extra warmth around the neck/throat.
Form-fitting, making it well-suited for wearing under a rain/wind coat or a reflective vest. Hind leg straps.
Materials: 100% merino wool; wool felt over the back, rib-knit merino wool in the chest and collar.
Washing: Wool wash at 30 degrees with wool detergent. Do not tumble dry.
Putting it on: The coat is put on like a sweater; pull it over the head first, then guide the front legs through the openings. Pull it down over the body, guide the hind legs into the hind leg straps, and tighten the coat at the back if necessary.
Need for a coat: Most dog breeds in this country originate from countries with milder climates than Norway, and their fur/coat is therefore not adapted to Norwegian climates and temperatures.
How to wash and care for wool dog coats?
The great advantage of wool is that it is in many ways self-cleaning and sustainable, but there are several things you should be aware of when washing and treating it.
-
We recommend shaking it and hanging it outside in fresh air for a couple of hours. Dirt usually does not penetrate the wool fibers, but settles on the surface.
-
When washing, we recommend machine washing on a wool cycle at 30 degrees with a dedicated wool detergent.
-
Wool products should be washed separately for best results.
-
Preferably avoid hand washing, as it can be difficult to regulate the temperature and remove soap residues and dirt compared to machine washing.
-
Spin-drying also helps the wool fabric dry faster and creates poorer conditions for bacterial growth.
